William Shatner’s A Twist in the Tale is an anthology series where each episode is a self-contained story with its own unique background and characters.

The character of the “Storyteller” is constant throughout the series, however. As portrayed by William Shatner, the Storyteller is an enigmatic and mystical character – he is very kind and friendly – and has a great sense of humour – towards children and takes them on journeys into their imaginations through the stories he tells.

The Storyteller is magical and often performs magical tricks – he also appears in various guises in the actual stories he tells themselves and interacts with the characters and events in the stories. His stories have morals and “lessons” in them but not in a preachy or patronising way. Like the Storyteller, his stories educate as well as entertain – in unexpected ways…

With 15 self-contained stories (all linked by the Storyteller) there are many main characters. Instead of having a brief description of each character in this section (as with the other Programmes in the website) we feel it is better for you to check out the Plot Synopsis section where each character – and their stories – are detailed. There are also photos of the main characters that appear in the Plot Synopsis section.
